Copper's Story

Meet Copper. We are smitten with this dog who reminds us of his resilience every day. With an intake date of 10/26/22 at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center and the fate of having to spend the next fourteen months on evidence hold, Copper's world was very small. For a love bug like himself, the fact that he was rarely allowed to exit from his kennel must’ve been torture. Even after the hold was lifted, Copper didn’t attract an adopter; due to overcrowding at the shelter, his future was put in jeopardy. On 1/17/24, we were thrilled to tell Copper that we were breaking him out of the shelter, once and for all.

He’s a handsome four-year-old, 54-pound Ridgeback-Shepherd mix. Copper is an effortlessly cool, mature boy who loves a routine and is eager to please. He is independent and crates well, knows his basic commands, and is food motivated. When Copper comes out of his shell, he shows off his goofy side, especially during training and playtime. He's a good companion dog because he loves to be around humans and other dogs. Affectionate and friendly, he melts when you pet him.

If you think Copper might be a good fit for you, fill out an application today!
https://k9kismet.org/adoption-application/

Follow him on IG @k9kismet: #K9KismetCopper
