Copper's Story

Meet Copper!

Age: 4 Years Old
Weight: 14 lbs
Breed: Tibetan Spaniel Mix (Best Guess)

Copper is a fun-loving little guy with a big personality and an even bigger smile. This handsome 14-pound fellow was surrendered by his owner and is now searching for a family that will appreciate his happy spirit and affectionate nature.

Our best guess is that Copper may be a Tibetan Spaniel mix, though whatever his breed makeup may be, he has all the qualities that make a wonderful companion. He is a social and outgoing boy who enjoys being part of the action and spending time with his people. Copper has lived with other dogs and has done well with the cats in his foster home, making him a great candidate for a home with other furry family members.

Copper has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and is crate trained. While he has settled nicely into home life, he has very little experience walking on a leash. Because of this, he will need a home with a secure physical fenced yard where he can safely enjoy the outdoors while he continues building confidence. He is not a good candidate for an invisible fence or tether.

This active little guy enjoys staying busy and likes having opportunities to explore, play, and interact with his family. True to his nature, Copper will bark when he gets excited or when he feels it's his duty to alert you of potential threats, so he may not be the best fit for apartment or shared-wall living.

Copper is particularly fond of women and tends to bond with them quickly. He can be a bit cautious around men when first meeting them, but with patience, consistency, and a few tasty treats, he warms up and learns to trust. Because of his sensitive side and occasional alert barking, he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his boundaries and help him continue building confidence.

Copper is a happy boy with a bright future ahead of him. He is looking for a family that will provide him with love, patience, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy life as a cherished companion.

If you're looking for a loyal, entertaining sidekick with lots of personality, Copper may be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to find a home that will love him furever.

Copper is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Scheduled for neuter at our partner Veterinary office (included in the adoption fee).

ADOPTION FEE: $375

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
