Cooper thrives on human companionship, is playful without being over-the-top and is wonderfully biddable. He's a homebody with no interest in running off and has good recall. He loves attention, food, playing fetch, car rides, walks, kissing and cuddling, squeaky toys, sleeping on the couch and playtime with canine friends. He also has a great ability to self-entertain, happily tossing around a squeaky toy when his people are busy. <br/><br/>Cooper is very intelligent and well manned. He knows basic commands, waits to be released for his food and at the door; and, he cooperatively waits for his treats to be handed to him and for his ball to be thrown when alongside his canine housemates.<br/><br/>Cooper is happiest when he has a large space to adequately stretch his legs and a canine buddy to hang out and romp with. So, another young, playful dog is high priority for his new home.<br/><br/>Cooper is built for short bursts of fun rather than long-distance running, which makes his daily Chuckit! fetch sessions an absolute favorite. To keep him happy and fulfilled, he’ll need a LARGE space where he can stretch his legs and chase his ball. He also enjoys walks and does wonderfully on leashed neighborhood walks and exploring off-leash trails.<br/><br/>Someone looking for a dog to take to another level will find Coopers toy drive and speed make him an excellent candidate for flyball or Fast CAT. Cooper is also an extremely smart boy with a fantastic nose, making him a good candidate for nose work or enrichment games like hide-and-seek with his people.<br/><br/>Cooper is a purebred Border Collie around 2 years old and 45 pounds.
