Meet and Greet: The potential adopter meets the pet to see if they are a good match. This might include introducing the pet to other animals in the household. 5. Adoption Fee: There is usually an adoption fee that helps cover the cost of the pet's care, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and other medical expenses. 6. Adoption Contract: The adopter signs a contract agreeing to the terms of the adoption, which might include returning the pet to the rescue if they can no longer care for it. 7. Follow-Up: conduct follow-up visits or calls to ensure that the pet is adjusting well to their new home.
