Cookie's Story
Meet Cookie!

Cookie is a 2-year-old, 9-pound Shih Tzu mix from Alabama, and an absolute sweetheart in the making. This little guy may start off a bit shy, but once he warms up, his affectionate, gentle personality really shines.

He's been doing great in his foster home, where he loves zooming around the yard with his dog friends, snuggling on the couch, and getting very excited for mealtime.

Cookie is already making strong progress with house training and does best on a consistent outdoor schedule. He's still learning the ropes, but he's improving every day and just needs a little guidance to get there.

Leash walks are still new to him, so he'll need a patient adopter who can help build his confidence—but he's already showing how much he wants to learn and trust.

The best part? Cookie is incredibly easy to have at home. He sleeps quietly in his crate overnight, can be left alone without any issues, and has shown zero destructive behaviors. He's the kind of dog who just wants a cozy spot, a squeaky toy, and his people nearby.

Cookie would thrive in a calm, loving home, ideally with another friendly dog to help him continue to come out of his shell. With a little patience and encouragement, he's going to blossom into the most loyal, cuddly companion.

If you're looking for a sweet, low-drama pup with tons of potential (and a heart of gold), Cookie might just be your perfect match.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, spayed and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and recently dewormed.

To apply for Cookie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
