Cookie's Story<br/><br/>Sometimes rescue isn't just about finding a home—it's about being there when everything goes wrong.<br/><br/>Cookie's former owner moved away and left her with a neighbor, never mentioning that she was pregnant. When I stopped by the vet before leaving for New Jersey last month, I met the woman caring for Cookie. She was overwhelmed, preparing to move to Washington State, and had no idea what to do.<br/><br/>I told her SoCo Rescue would take Cookie in. Our amazing foster, Brittany, stepped up and cared for her while I was away. The woman was in tears, so grateful to know Cookie would be safe.<br/><br/>Sadly, Cookie's pregnancy took a heartbreaking turn. Her first puppy became stuck during labor, and she had to be rushed in for an emergency C-section. Tragically, none of her four puppies survived, and Cookie herself came dangerously close to losing her life.<br/><br/>Thanks to the incredible staff at AMC, Cookie was given a second chance. Their quick actions and compassionate care saved her life.<br/><br/>Since then, Brittany has continued to foster Cookie, surrounding her with the love, patience, and care she desperately needed after such a devastating experience.<br/><br/>While Cookie's story is filled with heartbreak, we're thankful she's still here. Now it's our turn to help her leave the past behind and find the forever family she has always deserved. ❤ï ̧
