Comet's Story
Comet
Thirteen years old, 15lbs
Rescued in the southwest
Vaccinated and altered

Meet Comet! This spunky 13-year-old (her foster suspects she may actually be younger) is full of energy — moderate energy in general but genuinely spins-in-circles excited the moment she spots her leash. She's a lovely mix of independent and people-oriented, comfortable retreating to her crate as a safe space but just as happy hanging out with her people. She handled the long journey from Texas remarkably well, hopping off the van tail wagging, and continues to take new situations in stride better than most dogs her foster has cared for.

Comet is a genuine people-person, always ready for pets from any available hand, and she might love other dogs even more — she tries to say hi and play with every pup she passes on walks. She's fully potty and crate trained, walks beautifully on leash (walks are clearly her favorite thing in the world), and does great with alone time, whether that's with guests or on her own. She doesn't know any formal commands yet, but she's easy to motivate with walks, treats, and love.

Comet would do well as an only dog or with a companion, fits apartment living nicely, and would suit a moderate-to-calm household — she loves her walks but tires a bit faster these days (it’s also been very hot). She's adaptable enough to thrive with an older, less active adopter or a young active family, and she's independent enough to be fine with someone who's away part of the day. Her foster describes her as spunky, sweet, and wonderfully go-with-the-flow — a joyful old soul who still knows how to have fun

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE.
