Colton's Story

Meet Colton.

Colton is a newly one-year-old Mastiff/Husky mix with one speed: lets go.
If your idea of a good day involves hiking trails, exploring new places, camping weekends, long walks, or generally not sitting still for very long, Colton is probably your guy. He loves being part of whatever adventure is happening and is happiest when he has both physical exercise and something to keep his brain busy.

Colton is a social dog who currently attends daycare and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. Because he enjoys being around other dogs, his future family should continue investing in his socialization and training. He can be enthusiastic in his greetings and is still learning that not every dog wants to be welcomed with the same level of excitement that he brings to the table.

He could potentially live with another dog, but that dog should appreciate an energetic younger brother who occasionally comes with a healthy dose of shenanigans. Colton loves to play and interact, and not every dog will share his enthusiasm.

We have not tested Colton with small animals, but given his age, breed mix, and personality, we do not believe a home with cats or other small pets would be the best fit.

He is looking for an active home committed to continuing his training, providing plenty of exercise, and helping him become the best version of himself. In return, you'll get a loyal sidekick who is always ready to grab his leash and see what the day has in store.

Colton is part of MARS Special Circumstances Adoption Program. His adoption fee is just $300, and adopters who complete the required training program will have that fee fully reimbursed. The program is designed to support dogs who may need a little extra investment in training and structure while setting both dog and adopter up for long-term success.

Think Colton might be your adventure partner?

What's included in your adoption fee?
At Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, every dog adopted comes with:
* Spay/Neuter
* Core vaccines
* Rabies vaccine (age dependent)
* 4DX test for heartworm & tick-borne diseases (age dependent)
* Flea, tick & heartworm prevention
* Parasite treatment
* Dental surgery if recommended by our veterinary partner
* A session with a positive-reinforcement trainer
* 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance
* Ongoing support from our team because adoption is just the beginning

Adoption Fee:
$300 - Special Circumstances Adoption Program

Apply today:
https://www.marsrescue.ca/adoption

#MARS #MyrtlesAnimalRescue #RescueDog #AdventureDog #MastiffMix #HuskyMix #OntarioRescue #RescueDogsOfOntario #DogAdoption #AdoptableDog #StThomasOntario #ElginCounty
