Cole and Cobie's Story

Cole and Cobie are two bluetick brothers from Virginia. They weren't good hunters and their owner surrendered them to the shelter. They came with medical records are were well-cared for. They are 2 yrs old and should have an ideal weight of about 50 lbs. Cole is the darker one - he's more confident and outgoing; Cobie is the lighter one. He's more hesitant in new situations. Both play well with other dogs. These are typical hunting pack dogs, they are more comfortable around other dogs and have had limited exposure to people, although they are quickly acclimating to life at their foster home and enjoy petting and attention. We are unsure at this time if we will need to place them together. If we separate them, we will prefer homes with another dog already in residence, Cole and Cobie have arrived i Massachusetts and are ready for visits!

Our Mission
Coonhounds and beagles are abandoned in shelters because in many parts of the country they have very little value as pets. They are often kept outside in pens and sometimes do not even have names. They are sometimes viewed as 'hunting equipment' and will even have numbers or symbols painted or tattooed on them. But hounds...
