Meet Coffee <br/><br/>Coffee is a laid-back low rider with a heart of gold and the sturdy build of a little tank. <br/><br/>He came to us from a shelter in Texas, where adoption rates are incredibly low and rescue tags are often a dog's only chance at making it out alive—especially for seniors and those who aren't considered "highly desirable." We're so grateful Coffee got his second chance - all because a foster said yes! <br/><br/>When Coffee arrived, his past was a mystery. After settling in and completing his veterinary care, he began experiencing seizures. Thankfully, after months of treatment and careful monitoring, we were able to determine that the seizures were likely caused by a medication reaction rather than a lifelong neurological disorder. Coffee has since been safely weaned off seizure medication and is doing great! The only long-term change is that he can no longer use oral flea and tick preventatives and instead wears a flea and tick collar—a simple commitment for a very deserving dog.<br/><br/>Coffee is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, kennel trained, and house trained when taken out regularly. He's not going to be your hiking buddy or training partner, and honestly, he'd rather not be. Coffee is much more interested in lounging in the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and hanging out with his favorite people while you enjoy a cold one on the porch.<br/><br/>One of the sweetest things about Coffee is that he's just now learning what it means to be loved. We suspect he may have spent much of his life as an outside-only dog because affection and cuddles seem completely new to him.
