COCO Beagle Cleveland, TN

Coco is a 3 year old female purebred 13” Beagle. She has been spayed, received all vaccinations, dewormed, fecal analysis, a physical and dental examination. Coco is a very sweet and affectionate dog but has some issues that will require a patient and consistent human. She was adopted from a rescue group near the area. The couple who adopted Coco had last their canine companion a few months before they adopted her. The woman had also been through chemotherapy and was cleared after the treatments. She wanted to find a new pup. Coco immediately showed her separation anxiety issues in her new home. Left in a bathroom alone she took it apart - a huge amount of damage. They said she would not kennel. So reluctantly they attempted to return her. The rescue said no. Knowing all this I accepted her at the Ark. She showed less anxiety kept in a group of dogs however we worked through her destructive tendencies when anxious. She came freshly spayed and developed an infection from sutures rejecting. Two rounds of antibiotics resolved that issue. Dr Bain suggested Delta 9 in micro doses. She does great with delta 9 and is currently taking it twice daily. She kennel readily when alone and at night. She is crate trained so no mess there. Her adopter will need to accept her anxiety issue and continue her current regimen, kennel her anytime alone, and have infinite patience and understanding.
