Coben's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Introducing Coben. Named after bestselling author Harlan Coben, this leading lady is ready to write her next chapter and she’s hoping it’s with you.

Coben is a 13-week-old possible Anatolian Shepherd mix with a big fluffy coat to match her big personality. As a likely large-breed girl (currently 19lbs), she’s looking for a family that understands guardian-type dogs and has room for her to stretch those legs. A fenced yard or space to run would be a dream come true.

Here’s what we’ve learned about Coben since she has been with her foster family in NY:

• Loves the snow-Will dive in head first.

• Doing great with potty training-Sometimes even goes to the door to let you know. That’s great for her age.

• Playful and happy-Puppy zoomies included.

• Dog-friendly-Does love to tumble around and play with other dogs. So if you have a dog at home that would prefer to play alone or rest on a comfy bed all day, Coben might not be for you.

• Still a young puppy-Learning what she can chew on and shouldn’t. This takes time with all puppies and she redirects well when given a toy to play with.

• Crate trained-Rests in the crate when foster family is out of the house. Sleeps in her crate and usually wakes around 5am (may need a quick potty break but happily goes back to sleep).

• Enjoys leash walks-Loves to walk right along side her doggie friend.

Coben is at that perfect age where she’s soaking up the world and ready to bond and learn with her people.

The hope is for her to be ready for adoption this coming weekend (Feb 27th) and we can’t wait to see who gets to be part of her story.

Ready to turn the page and meet Coben? Apply online at Homeward Bound today!

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
