Clover's Story
Clover #1071

DOB: 7/3/2026

Color & Breed: Tan & White Basset/Beagle/Heeler Mix

Gender: Intact Female - Contract Required

Weight: 8.5 lbs at eight weeks

Clover #1071 is the quintessential firstborn—she’s the biggest, the boldest, the smartest, and the most stubborn. Her mama, Honey, is a basset-beagle mix and his dad was mostly an American Cattle Dog with a dash of McNab.

Clover won’t rest until she’s explored the entire yard and would do well in an active home where she can exercise both her mind and body. She’s very food motivated so training her should be a breeze. In every picture, you can see the gears in her brain working as she tries to figure it out.

Because we believe strongly in promoting the health of our dogs, MNBR does not spay/neuter puppies until six months of age. Intact puppies under 6 months old must be adopted in MN or within 250 miles of St. Paul in WI, IA, ND, or SD and with a spay/neuter contract. The cost of the spay/neuter is the responsibility of MNBR and reflected in the adoption fee.

Puppies are A LOT of work and a 12+ year commitment, so make sure you have thought it through and are fully ready for the responsibility prior to applying. If you’re ready to make the jump, visit https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoptable-hounds

MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 8 hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

Minnesota Basset Rescue (MNBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Minnesota. MNBR rehomes dogs from owners who can no longer provide their care and rescues dogs from local pounds and shelters. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Our organization provides safe, loving foster home, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities while working hard to find them a permanent, loving home!
