Clover's Story

Welcome Clover to Pet Path. We are in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. She was returned to the breeder for nipping at the nine year old child. She is a 5 month old Auggie (corgi aussie mix). She is about 16 lbs very active very sweet. Yes she is cute but that’s the problem.
You see her breed mix consists of two highly intelligent working line herding dogs! Their genetic makeup and instincts exist and the only way you’re going to make this type of dog happy and be able to fulfill its needs and avoid destruction, anxiety and frustration is by giving them a job doing what they were bred to do.
As for nipping the child. DUH it’s a herding breed what do you think they do to herd sheep in their lineage? You cannot remove the genetic disposition of a dog and if you try to suppress it without an outlet you are simply building pressure and that pressure will find a way to escape when they have had enough and don’t know what to do with themselves. They resort to destructive behaviors and develope anxiety.
Do not apply for Clover if you think she’s cute! Do not apply for her if you cannot fulfil her needs as a herding breed. Do not apply for her if you cannot physically exercise her and provide mental stimulation for her daily. No small children under age 10. Children age 10 and up, apply only if you understand the difference in a bite, snip, snap or a nip. This baby is no biter she is a nipper which comes naturally for her from her lineage. She doesn’t want to harm or hurt anyone she is loving and affectionate and unfortunately she found herself with a family that were clueless on her needs or her herding and nipping instincts.

If you have a fenced yard and can provide the needs for this cutie pie then please do apply.

Petpath.org
