Fence needed? Yes, Clifford requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. He is a typical setter and loves to explore.

What kind of home would be best for me? Clifford is looking for a home that is all about him. He wants to go with his human as much as possible. Clifford needs an active lifestyle, he loves to be in the woods exploring. He is smart and food motivated meaning training classes would be a great idea for him. Clifford is the type of dog to steal the show in any public outing, he is gorgeous and he knows it. Clifford will need to work on some confidence in new scenarios but it won't take long for him to be begging for attention in any environment. Clifford would be chill with children, he's very gentle spirited. Clifford prefers to be your only dog. he has spent most of his life as a stud dog and now he is ready to settle into life as his own dog. If you have another dog, Clifford would prefer a female of his size that is mellow in energy. No cats, please! Clifford is going to make a great addition for a family looking for a true family companion.

What is my personality like? Clifford is classified as a level 5 clinger. In other words he is all about his people. Clifford prefers to be the center of attention always, he is almost always attached to his person's hip. Clifford loves to explore and be around humans. We can see Clifford on a sunny beach getting his tan on, he loves to be outside soaking up the sun.

Clifford is quiet in his crate and goes in nicely. He walks relatively well on leash, he could absolutely use some work. Clifford was a stud dog so you can expect for the next 30 days while the testosterone works its way out of his system, he may attempt to hump other dogs. This is why we suggest an only dog home for him for now. He has not shown any aggression with other dogs, just simply a happy humper. This is typical for stud dogs even after neuter. Regardless, Clifford is a staff favorite already and we expect none the less of the luckily family that adopts him

How do I act when I first meet new people? Cautious at first but quick to warm up.

Other tips and tidbits: Clifford's birthday is 7/30/2021

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
