Cletus's Story

Cletus: Deputy of Shenanigans 🤠🐾
Straight outta Hazzard County, Cletus is exactly what you’d expect from a pup with that name — lovable, goofy, slightly chaotic, and always finding himself in the middle of something.

Cletus loves everyone and everything he meets. People, dogs, random objects on the floor… they all deserve a proper greeting and at least one tiny taste-test. He’s convinced the best way to experience life is mouth first, and he approaches every new discovery with enthusiasm.

House training is still very much “under construction,” and Cletus approaches the concept with the confidence of a man who has never once read the instructions. Some days are better than others, but he’s trying… probably.

At night, this little deputy settles down beautifully and sleeps soundly until morning. His favourite thing is curling up for lap cuddles and being held upside down like a baby while soaking up chest and belly rubs. The tougher he acts during the day, the more he melts into a floppy cuddle puddle at bedtime.

Cletus has recently discovered his Great Pyrenees bark and now feels personally responsible for announcing anything “suspicious” to the entire county. His foster family is helping him work on using his “inside voice” instead of full volume emergency broadcasts.

Cletus loves bones, sticks, and hard chews, and occasionally forgets he’s a puppy and becomes a mountain goat instead. He hops, bounces, rears up, and attempts enthusiastic headbutts like he’s training for life on a cliffside farm.

He already knows sit, wait, and come… though his recall does include the standard Great Pyrenees clause of “I heard you, but I may have other plans.” He’s working on down and off, and while he’s kennel trained and willingly goes inside, he’d like everyone to know he does so under protest.

Cletus is sweet, silly, loud, cuddly, and full of personality. He’s just a good ol’ boy looking for a home to call his own.

Born: December 1st, 2025
Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix
Gender: Male
Size: Expected to be large/ extra large
Activity Level: Puppy
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Adoption Fee:$395

If you are interested in meeting Cletus, applications can be found here:

http://mgpr.weebly.com/dog-adoption-application.html

Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy
The adoption process starts with an application form to find out more information about your family to ensure the best fit for the dog. Applications can be found at http://mgpr.weebly.com/ Second step is to have reference checks and vet checks. We want to ensure all dogs go to responsible loving homes. Thirdly, is the meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. We encourage all members of your family to be in attendance at this visit as the dog will be an integral part of all of their lives. The final step of the adoption process is a home visit from one of our team members. The home visit allows us to see the environment in which the dog will be living as well as to offer any tips and advice to making your home dog friendly. Then your new family member will come home to shower your family with unconditional love.
