Clarence's Story
Meet Clarence! Clarence missed the memo that he’s supposed to be a senior and instead wakes up every day ready to play, explore, and see what kind of fun he can get into.

Clarence is playful, spry, cuddly, and just mischievous enough to keep you laughing. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything you’re doing, whether that’s going for a walk, tossing around a toy, or simply sitting on the couch—preferably with him launching himself directly into your lap. His tiny tail wag somehow contains the enthusiasm of a much larger dog, and he is more than happy to share that enthusiasm with everyone he meets.

Clarence loves food, treats, plush toys, chew toys, balls, and getting up close and personal with his people. He has a medium energy level and would thrive in a home that will take him on walks, include him in adventures, and give him plenty of opportunities to play. He’s not looking to sit on the sidelines—he’s here to participate. At the same time, he’s a champion snuggler who will gladly settle in next to you once he’s gotten his energy out for the day.

He is housebroken, sleeps through the night, and does well when left alone, making him an easy addition to any household. He can handle stairs, walks reasonably well on leash, and rides fine in the car. After arriving to us too thin, he's working on gaining back some weight now that he’s getting the consistent meals he very much believes he deserves. He does have some mild hearing loss, which just adds to his charm and may occasionally result in him choosing to hear only what he wants to hear.

Clarence would do best in a home with a fenced yard to explore and people who are around often and excited to engage with his playful personality. While he coexists well with his canine foster sibling, he does get worked up when he sees other dogs while leashed. He'll need an adopter who is patient and dedicated to continuing to help him through this reactivity. Outside of that, he’s a social, affectionate little guy who loves being part of the action!

Clarence is not here to be subtle. He is here to bring fun, affection, and a little bit of chaos into your life, all wrapped up in a very small, very adorable package.

If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you entertained, keep you company, and keep you on your toes in the best way, Clarence's bags are packed and he's ready to move in.

Clarence is approximately 12 years old and 10 lbs.

Fostered in Rockville, MD
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
