Unlike her name, there’s nothing fruity about Citrus! This beautiful Pyr is a calm, even-tempered and good-natured girl. She loves meeting new people and getting pets - especially ear rubs and hugs! This girl is very responsive to kindness and love. She enjoys being brushed and will lie still on the floor until you are finished :) She also walks well on leash. Citrus was a livestock guardian dog in her former life and while she’s learning to enjoy the creature comforts of indoor life, she would love a big yard to lounge in and roam. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
