Citrus's Story

Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset.<br/><br/>Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart.<br/><br/>Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her.<br/><br/>She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer.<br/>Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer.<br/><br/>We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard.<br/><br/>Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. Rebel Dogs Detroit's Adoption Policy
We want to help you find your best friend! Rebel Dogs Detroit is committed to making dog adoption more accessible and attractive to the Detroit community. Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $275-$325, and $325-$400 for puppies. That said, we do have a sliding scale adoption fee for those below the poverty line who are interested in adopting an adult pitbull mix. We ask you apply for the dog/puppy on our website first and foremost. Once we receive your application, we will contact you with questions and/or set up a time to interview you. The next step is a meeting between you and the dog. If that goes well, and you wish to follow through with the adoption, you can do so at that point. Our commitment to you and your new companion doesn't end with the adoption. If you ever need help in the future to keep your dog healthy and happy, you can always reach out. We will do everything in our power to help you and your pooch! We appreciate you opening up your home and your hearts, and know that it is a large, long-term responsibility. We ask you to not take it lightly, and promise that we won't either!
