Cinnamon's Story
Meet Cinnamon!

Cinnamon is thought to be approximately one year old; however, she acts much older than her age. She's thought to be a Cairn Terrier mix. Cinnamon weighs 8 pounds currently. She came from a fairly bad hoarding situation where she received zero socialization.

She lacks confidence and would do best in a home with another confident dog to follow. She has become very attached to her foster mom and dad, but refuses to interact with strangers and hides when company is over. Her favorite spots are on the back of the couch right by foster moms' head. She is learning the outdoors isn't a scary place and will do her business out there. She is also pee pad trained. Her safe space is her crate.

In a new environment, most of the skills she has learned in foster immediately disappear due to fear. Her forever home needs to be aware that her transition period would take at minimum a week, if not longer. She is very nervous, but very very sweet. She is not aggressive. She is food motivated , and ultimately will grow once trust is established with her new person. Her foster mom thinks her goal is to become a permanent lap dog and receive endless belly rubs. She does well with dogs of all sizes, and is cat friendly. Cinnamon would need an experienced dog owner to help her navigate how to be a dog, and would require someone who has patience to help her adapt.

She is not leash trained.

She is a very very sweet dog- please serious applications only. Cinnamon requires a very friendly voice, and a patient touch. She is doing extremely well in Foster, but those traits do not transfer well to new environments.

Cinnamon is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She has been fully vetted. She is microchipped. Cinnamon is also heartworm negative and receives monthly heartworm prevention.

Cinnamon’s adoption donation is $300.

If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.

To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.

Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
