Chula's Story

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Gender: female
Approximate Age: 5-6 years
Approximate Weight: 18 pounds
Color: salt and pepper
Ear Type: natural
Tail Type: natural
Other distinctive markings or characteristics: none

Chula’s champion is Dorian. If you meet the requirements for his permanent home and have questions that are not answered on our website after you have submitted an adoption application, please contact her at saveamini@aol.com.

I'm Chula, a 5-6 year old female Schnauzer mix, and I'm looking for a playmate!
I was surrendered by my family to a shelter in NYC because I had medical issues that they didn't recognize or try to fix. I was bleeding and couldn't control my urine. Turns out I wasn't naughty or stubborn - I had a walnut-sized stone in my already small bladder that was painful and causing all sorts of issues plus an infection.
Luckily, I went into a loving foster home who fed me all kinds of good food, kept me on my medications, gave me lots of hugs and kisses, and took me to a lot of vets to get me feeling better. In addition to getting all my vaccines at the shelter, and my bladder stone removed, I was spayed and had a dental cleaning. Although the vet and groomer are not my favorite people, I have to admit I'm looking and feeling great now - and no more bleeding or accidents!!
My foster mom says I need an active home. I love other dogs, older kids and toys, and enjoy running in a yard. I'd also like nice long walks or hikes. My family is important to me, so I'd do best with someone around a lot, plus plenty of time for snuggling and chilling with my people.

Prior to placement, all dogs are spayed/neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs also receive a dental cleaning, if needed, and are bathed/groomed before adoption.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete our adoption application, which is available on our website at www.njsrn.org (click on the Adopt tab). Please be sure to include the dog’s name in the questions/comments section of the application.
