Chuck's Story
This is the story of Chuck. And trust us... you want to get to the end.

The first emotion Chuck gave us was sadness. Like, the kind that takes the wind right out of you.

When Chuck came into the shelter, he was paralyzed from the waist down. He could lift his head when you walked by, but his back legs weren’t working. We didn’t know exactly what happened. Maybe he was hit by a car. Maybe something else. All we knew was that this happy-looking guy was lying in his kennel, unable to use his back end, and it was hard to look at him without feeling absolutely awful.

Then came hopeful.

The doctors started him on steroids, and little by little, we started seeing movement. And then came the big question: Chuck couldn’t recover from this while lying in a shelter kennel. He needed someone to take a chance on him.

His foster stepped up without knowing what the future would look like. She just knew Chuck deserved a chance.

And slowly, day by day, Chuck got better. Therapy, patience and lots of TLC... and this guy just kept improving. Today, he is almost as good as new. Honestly, if you met him now, you’d probably have no idea what he’s been through.

And then came obsession.
Because how could it not?

Chuck is 7 years old, dog friendly, cat friendly and a people pleaser extraordinaire. He’s been through an obedience class, knows all his basic commands and was basically the class star. Shocking? Not really. Everyone who meets Chuck loves Chuck.

He’s happy-go-lucky, easygoing and ridiculously easy to live with. He’s got that perfect medium-energy thing going on, too. Want to go do something? Chuck is in. Want to hang out all day and do absolutely nothing? Chuck is also very much in.

And he is a 10/10 cuddler.

No dog is perfect, but Chuck is pretty darn close.

His foster took a chance on him when we had no idea how this story was going to end. And somehow, we went from looking into his kennel and feeling completely defeated... to watching this guy walk around like he never got the memo that he was supposed to have a sad story.

Now we just need the final chapter.

The person who meets Chuck and thinks, “Yep. This is my dog.”

If you want to know more about Chuck or think you might be his person, email his foster at cmcfosterdogs@gmail.com to ask questions or set up a meet.

We have a feeling you’re going to be pretty obsessed with him, too.
