Chocolate Chip's Story

#4 of 6 Ice Cream Flavor Dogs

Chocolate Chip is ready to trade in his past for a cozy couch, a loving human, and a lifetime of affection

At around 4 years old and 20 pounds, this Dachshund is currently on a little wellness journey to drop a few pounds—but don’t let his extra chocolate chunks fool you, his personality is pure love. With a bit of consistency and support, he’ll be looking and feeling his best in no time!

Chocolate Chip came from a breeder situation, and he’s finally getting a taste of the love and attention he’s always deserved. Because of that, he really cherishes his person. He gets along well with his small foster siblings, but if he had his way, he might choose to be your one-and-only so he never has to share your affection again.

He’s a professional love bug—whether that’s curling up next to you on the couch, relaxing in his crate while you watch TV, or snuggling up in the big bed at night. He’s also doing great with crate training and is making steady progress with potty training in his foster home.

Chocolate Chip can be a little protective of his foster mom when meeting new people, but it’s only because he’s still learning that the world is a safe place. With patience and gentle introductions, he continues to grow more confident every day.

What he really wants is simple: someone to call his own. Someone who understands that love takes time, but is so worth it.

If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with a big heart and an even bigger love for snuggles, Chocolate Chip might just be your perfect match

Chocolate Chip is 1 of 6 breeder situation dogs that we have named the Ice Cream Flavor Dogs. They all come in different colors and flavors.

Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.
