Chiquita's Story

Chiquita is an incredibly sweet, and affectionate dog. She loves everybody, and we mean EVERYONE she meets. She runs up and happily greets people, wriggling in for cuddles and pets. She is the original glass-half-full girl, easy going and just happy to be alive.
Chiquita is not a high energy, high maintenance girl. She is up for any adventure and all the sniffs, and with her sleek, sexy short coat, she is low maintenance for you, too! Dirt and mud just wipe right off her. While she loves to adventure with you, she is equally happy to curl up next to you and keep you company when you watch a movie.
She gets along with all the dogs she has crossed paths with, reading and respecting their body language expertly. She is not playful with other dogs, but happily coexists with them. She also gets along well with the cats she has lived with, and seems unfazed by children.
Chiquita was abandoned by her family when she became pregnant. She was rescued from a field in Guatemala after having given birth to her puppies, who all died of exposure.
This terrific dog is housetrained, walks beautifully on leash, has learned quite a few basic behaviours and is comfortable at home alone. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and health checked. We think she is about 6-7 years old, which is a perfect age to slip seamlessly into your life-no puppy chewing and peeing, no adolescent insanity needing 10 hours of walks and enrichment every day, but still young enough to happily tag along on beach adventures and camping trips .
We think that she would do best with another calm animal or two in the home. She doesn't really want to play with the other dogs, but does seem to take comfort in having canine companions around.
She is a perfect package of a dog; smart, easy to live with, connected and happy. Her foster mom is completely smitten with her.
Want to meet this wonderful dog?
