Chip - Paws Behind Bars Prison Trained's Story

Chip - Paws Behind Bars Prison Trained

Chip is a handsome little guy that is lucky to be alive! He was surviving on a mountainside due to the kindness of a stranger who would take dog food and feed this large group of dogs living on an old coal mine road. He was rescued by this kind stranger and was suffering with mange and an eye injury. Blue Ridge Animal Rescue helped his skin and coat recover and signed him up for enucleation surgery for his eye and then gave him time to acclimate to friendly humans. He has done a wonderful turn around and is such a friendly pup! He is blossoming with the help of his inmate handler in the Paws Behind Bars Prison Training Program. He knows basic commands of sit, down and stay and is potty trained and walks well on a leash. Chip would do best in a quieter household because he came from living outside. He will bond beautifully to a couple main humans and he is good with other dogs. Chip is so deserving of a great family and a home to feel safe and warm from the incoming winter chill. Chip is around 3 years of age and about 24 pounds. His little legs would love to be running around in your back yard!
To inquire or receive an adoption application, please email to blueridgerescue@aol.com
