Chip's Story
Chip is an Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees mix, just shy of 5 years old and 85 pounds. There is very little happening in his vicinity that has escaped his attention, and he knows your teenager is thinking about sneaking out before your teenager has completely formed the thought. Whether they consider it any of his business is irrelevant. It is now his business.

Chip is active, smart and occasionally a little too pleased with his own capabilities. He can Spider-Man his way over any fence, so a fenced yard requires supervision. Please do not look at your fence and think, “Surely not.” Chip appreciates your optimism and will see you in the driveway.

He is generally good with people and needs humans who understand what living with a smart, scheming dog actually entails. Someone in this relationship needs to have a plan, and we would prefer it be you. He needs consistent expectations, things to do and people who enjoy a dog with a functioning brain and several independent proposals for how the day should go.

This is 1000% not an apartment or townhouse dog. Chip needs room to stretch out and neighbors at a respectable distance. If you can hear your neighbor opening a bag of chips through the wall, this is not the arrangement for him. His home should have kids over 12, absolutely zero cats and, if there are other dogs, dogs who are up for whatever. A delicate soul hoping for a quiet roommate should keep scrolling.

There is a lot to love about Chip if you are the right person for him. He is handsome, clever, active and ready to be involved. He needs someone who likes all of that and understands that an 85-pound Anatolian is going to have opinions. Ideally, you will have some experience getting those opinions overruled.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/dog-adoption/ and then email paige@bigfluffydogs.com. Please be sure to do the application in addition to emailing the coordinator as the application will get a response.

All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be.
