Chip's Story

This silly lovable goof was found as a puppy on the freeway along with a litter mate. They were taken to a county shelter and the other pup was quickly adopted while Chip waited. He was struggling in the shelter so the family who found him, adopted him, out of fear he would be euthanized in the shelter. They knew that was not a long-term solution so they reached out to us for help. Chip is still very much a puppy even though he is 2 years old and 80 lbs.
We are working with him on his leash manners and basic commands. He is willful and strong so he will need a patient adopter who can help him with all things puppy. We have discovered that he will need to be placed as an only dog. That’s not to say with proper and consistent training he may be able to live with another dog his own size but for right now that is not a possibility. You can see more videos of Chip on our Instagram page @thebrittanyfoundation.

Because we require visits here to our rescue and in-person home checks, adoptions are limited to the Los Angeles, CA area.

The Brittany Foundation's Adoption Policy
If you're interested in adopting a dog from us, we'll ask you to fill out an adoption application. This gives us a chance to find out a little bit about you and to make sure the dog you are interested in will be a good match for your family and lifestyle. If it looks like a good match, we will set up a time to come to your house for a home inspection. This allows us to make sure your home will be a safe, secure place for the dog... and it gives you a chance to see how the dog will interact with other pets and members of your family. Because of this policy, adoptions are generally restricted to the Los Angeles area and, in some cases, to other parts of Southern Califonia only. (We do occasionally make exceptions for "the perfect match", but the home must still be within reasonable driving distance). Our adoption fees range from $250-$500
