Chip's Story

THIS IS A COURTESY POST - THIS DOG IS NOT WITH MID-ATLANTIC JACK RESCUE. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER DIRECTLY

Chip is a mixed Cairn and Jack Russel Terrier in York, PA. He is an energetic 9 year old. Chip is a great cuddler and melts under the touch of a hand. He will happily hop up into any lap that will have him. Chip loves being outside, his favorite spot is just outside the door to our patio watching for any movement to investigate. He has a major passion for sniffing out chipmunks and chasing squirrels around the yard and up trees. He is fast and has a great bark to alert us of his finds. Chip also loves to run up and down our front lawn “greeting” or warning passers by, depending on your interpretation. He is great with children of all ages. Chip is good with other animals, but definitely has his limit and will let them know with a growl to back off. We do have another dog who tends to dominate and lately, Chip has taken to “marking” to claim his place. Chip is great with kids (we have 7 grandkids) and does not nip or bite humans. We feel compelled to rehome Chip at this point as he is running through our electric fence into the street, chasing after dogs who are being walked. We live in a development so people walking by is a common event. We fear for Chip’s safety as well as the safety of the passersby. Chip is crate trained. He has a lifetime license and is up to date on all his shots.
It has been such a tough decision to rehome Chip. We would be so relieved and grateful to find a kind and caring family who could give Chip the love he deserves and the safe outdoor space he needs to explore, and run safely.
My name is Jill and my contact number is (717) 424-6618.
