Chili's Story

Chili is a 7-month-old Red Heeler/Dachshund mix weighing around 20–25 pounds of pure puppy chaos and love. He’s playful, spunky, loud, hilarious, and absolutely full of personality. His spicy name sure matches his personality.

This boy LOVES toys — the more squeaky toys, bones, and things to carry around the better. He’s happiest when he has another dog to wrestle and play with nonstop and would do great with another dog in the home.

Chili does well with other dogs, is okay with cats (though he thinks chasing them is a fun game), and would do best with no kids, or older kids who understand that sometimes he likes his personal space and doesn’t always want to be picked up.

Chili is crate trained and keeps a clean crate, but fair warning: he strongly disagrees with being left in it and can be very vocal. Because of this, no apartments please!

He’s still working on potty training out and about but has been doing really well using a doggy door and is learning quickly.

He’s not exactly a spa-day kind of guy — baths are NOT his favorite — and car rides require him to be in your lap unless you want a full concert the entire drive.
Chili’s ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time or works from home. He bonds deeply with his people and struggles with separation, so he’s looking for a family committed to helping him feel safe, secure, and loved.

If you’re looking for a goofy, energetic, Velcro-style best friend who will keep you laughing and never let you feel alone, Chili might just be your perfect match!

Apply to adopt Chili on our website: https://www.acesplacerescue.org/adoptionprocess

📍 Located in DFW, available anywhere if transport arranged by adopter.
