CHICO's Story

ADOPTABLE CHICO

Meet Chico

4 yrs old - 20 lbs. Chihuahua mix

This loving, playful little guy has made an incredible comeback! After arriving in foster care in February, Chico slipped a disc while chasing a toy. Following a long recovery, he’s back on four paws, running and playing!
Chico can be wary at first, but once you earn his trust, he’s deeply affectionate and devoted. He’s easy to walk on leash, neutral around other dogs, and happiest close to his people. He loves his ball and gentle, low-intensity fetch He’s also crate, place, muzzle, and e-collar trained.
Chico’s journey hasn’t been easy. He initially struggled with fear and could react defensively when people entered his space, especially during his recovery. Working with a trainer and having consistent structure and clear boundaries has helped him feel safer, more settled, and confident
He’ll do best with an experienced, confident adopter who will take introductions slowly, respect his boundaries, and patiently continue his training. We’ll discuss his behavior history openly with potential adopters to help ensure the right match.
In return, you’ll find a sweet, loyal companion who loves being loved! His trainer is offering three free private sessions, if needed, to support his transition.
Could you be Chico’s person?
