Through no fault of his own, he suddenly found himself starting over and looking for a new forever family.<br/><br/>Fortunately, Chico has handled the transition like a champ.<br/><br/>This handsome little guy has settled into foster care beautifully and seems to approach life with a practical attitude: if there are people to love, dogs to meet, and a comfortable place to sleep, things are probably going to be okay.<br/><br/>Chico has done wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and would likely enjoy having canine friends in his future home as well. He learned how to use the doggy door almost immediately and has adapted quickly to new routines and surroundings.<br/><br/>His foster family describes him as an easy dog to have around. He enjoys attention, likes being part of the household, and is happy to participate in whatever the day brings. Whether that's relaxing at home, spending time with his people, or exploring the yard, Chico is simply happy to be included.<br/><br/>One of Chico's best qualities is how adaptable he is. While many dogs struggle with major life changes, Chico has continued moving forward and making the best of every situation. He has a sweet, steady personality that makes him the kind of dog who could fit into many different types of homes.<br/><br/>Although Chico and Cruella came in together, they are not bonded and do not need to be adopted together. I like people, I like dogs, I know how to use the doggy door, and I'm pretty good at making myself at home. Life has thrown me a few surprises lately, but I'm ready for a fresh start. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will happily join you on life's adventures, I think we'd make a great team.<br/><br/>Important Adoption Information and Next Steps<br/><br/>All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:<br/><br/> Spayed or neutered<br/> Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations<br/> Microchipped prior to adoption<br/> Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate)<br/> Cared for in loving foster homes they are not housed in a shelter environment<br/><br/>Our adoption process includes:<br/><br/> A thorough application review to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter<br/> Veterinary reference verification (when applicable)<br/> Adoption fees that help cover veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County<br/><br/>To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.<br/><br/>After Submitting Your Application:<br/><br/>Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.<br/><br/>For Pets Already in the Home:<br/><br/>Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone both new and existing family members stays healthy and safe.<br/><br/>Keep in Mind:<br/><br/>We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible.
