Chickie's Story
Meet Chickie, a gentle, sweet-natured girl with a quiet soul and so much love to give. She can be shy when meeting new people, so patience is especially important when getting to know Chickie. She needs time to feel safe and comfortable, and her trust should never be rushed. Once she feels secure, she blossoms into a loyal, affectionate companion.

Chickie does well with children who understand her need for space and allow her to approach on her own terms. She also enjoys other dogs and would be happy with a friendly canine companion or as your one and only.

Chickie is fully house trained and has excellent manners in the home. She does not enjoy being crated and experiences separation anxiety, which she has been working through with support. Because being confined is stressful for her, she would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time--a retired adopter, work-from-home family, or household with a flexible schedule would be ideal.

The outside world can also be overwhelming for Chickie, and she is still building confidence on walks. Her forever family should be willing to go slowly, offer gentle encouragement, and let her progress at her own pace.

Chickie isn't looking for perfection. She is looking for someone who understands that good things take time and who will be patient as she learns to trust. In return, she'll give you unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and a whole lot of love.

Check out a snippet of her with her canine foster mates:
https://youtu.be/iPPLouyyvqw

Name: Chickie
Breed: Black Mouth Cur/Lab (Breed mix is not guaranteed, DNA testing done)
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years (estimated)
Weight: 53 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Heartworm: Negative on recent testing
Microchipped: Yes

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: Over 5
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Unknown

Adoption Fee: $550.00

Location of dog currently: New England

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
