Chica - LOCAL's Story
Chica lives every day like it's the best one yet and is determined to bring you along for the ride.

Chica is pure enthusiasm--curious, playful, and always ready for fun. She loves toys, exploring, and especially other dogs and people. Once she's comfortable, she's a goofy, social butterfly who wants to play and be everyone's best friend, with a little "bull in a china shop" charm.

She currently lives with three dogs and brings big "little sister who won't stop asking you to play" energy. She plays well when invited, shares toys (especially for tug), and respects other dogs when they set boundaries. She'd be happy as your one and only or with tolerant, playful dog friends who can match her energy. She does prefer to eat in her crate.

On leash, Chica can get overly excited when she sees other dogs--think "I LIKE YOU SO MUCH I FORGOT HOW TO ACT." She'll need a patient, consistent adopter to help her build manners and confidence, but she's very food- and toy-motivated, making her a great training partner.

Important note- Chica has Subaortic Stenosis (SAS), a heart condition currently controlled with affordable monthly medication. Chica currently shows no signs slowing her down! She just needs monitored and moderate activity--short play sessions, walks, and plenty of rest rather than intense, prolonged exercise.

She's an A+ crate student--goes in willingly, settles well, and sleeps through the night.

Chica is a big personality in a fun, lovable, slightly topsy-turvy package. She's meant for people who jump into life, who love to laugh, and have extra room in their heart and on their couch (for real though, Chica is ridiculously lengthy and can take up your entire couch!!).

With the right guidance, she'll shine--and in return, you'll get a truly loyal, hilarious companion who turns everyday life into a celebration.

Name: Chica
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/Crossbreed
Sex: Female
Age: 1 year (estimated)
Weight: 44 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Microchipped: Yes
Medical: Subaortic Stenosis (SAS); see information above.

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: Over 7, due to her excitability level.
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Selective..only dog savvy cats

Adoption Fee: $450.00

Location of dog currently: CT

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
