Chewy's Story

Meet Chewy!

Your Loyal, Gentle Companion

Meet this charming 9-year-old Lhasa Apso mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! At about 40 pounds, he’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend who loves being close to his people.

This sweet boy absolutely adores attention, snuggles, belly rubs, and making new human friends. He genuinely believes everyone he meets is there to say hello to him — and honestly, he may be right. Whether it’s neighbors passing by the window or visitors coming through the door, his tail starts wagging immediately. He’s happiest when he’s hanging out with his people, watching the world go by from one of his favorite window spots, or having one of his hilarious “conversations.” He’s very expressive and will grumble back and forth with you like he’s part of the discussion, which never fails to make people laugh.

He has a medium energy level and would enjoy moderate walks and companionship, though he’s also perfectly content lounging around the house near his humans. He is fully house trained, has excellent manners indoors, and has never been destructive in the home. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, stop, and no, and responds well when you get his attention with a clap or finger snap.

He would do best in a home focused on people companionship. While he loves humans of all ages and has done well around children, he does need continued work with socialization around other dogs, as he lacks the social skills to always properly interact with them and read the room. His experience with cats is unknown.

He enjoys chewing on bones, soaking up attention, and supervising neighborhood activities from the window. One funny quirk: he’s very curious outdoors and may try to snack on grass, dirt, or wood chips if given the opportunity.

He does have some skin allergies that are controlled with food and medication and benefits from regular grooming. He also had dental work completed recently.

If you’re looking for a loving, funny, affectionate companion with tons of personality and a talent for making you smile every day, this special guy may be your perfect match.

Chewy is available for adoption through Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue based out of Watertown, WI. Chewy is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption fee is $250 . To apply please visit mapawsmepetrescue.com

Interested in meeting Chewy ?

All Ma, Paws & Me Pet Rescue dogs are in homes with foster families; we do not have a shelter where dogs are available for daily viewing.

Our process is as follows:
1.
