Sadly, neither boy was claimed, and both were placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Prairie Paws Rescue was able to give them a second chance. <br/>Chewie is a sweet, social little guy who enjoys the company of other dogs, especially dogs his own size. He and Jango get along very well and have formed quite the little team. However, their friendship can sometimes be a little too strong! Their foster family has noticed that Chewie and Jango may gang up on and bully other dogs if they aren't monitored.<br/>Because of this, Chewie and Jango can be adopted together as a pair, provided they are the only dogs in the home. We may also consider placing them in separate homes where they can each receive all the attention they deserve.<br/>When Chewie arrived, his coat was badly matted and he needed a complete grooming. His beautiful Shih-Tzu mix coat will require regular grooming every couple of months to keep him comfortable, healthy and looking his best. Potential adopters should be prepared to budget for routine professional grooming expenses.<br/>Chewie also arrived with some pretty neglected teeth, but we've taken care of that! He has had a complete dental cleaning and is feeling much better. <br/>Chewie will need a refresher course in house training as he adjusts to his new home and routine. He does, however, keep his kennel clean while his foster family is away for up to five hours and overnight.<br/>Chewie has been through a lot, but he hasn't let that change his happy personality. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the patience, structure and love that every rescued dog deserves. <br/> Chewie's medical care is complete!<br/>Before adoption, Prairie Paws Rescue makes sure our dogs receive the care they need. Chewie has received:<br/> Neuter<br/> Age-appropriate vaccinations<br/> Rabies vaccination<br/> Deworming<br/> Flea treatment<br/> Microchip<br/> Complete veterinary examination<br/> Professional grooming<br/> Complete dental cleaning<br/>Chewie's past may have brought him to a pound, but his future is up to you. He was once facing an uncertain fate, and now he has the chance to find a family who will love him for all the years ahead.<br/>If you think Chewie—or Chewie and Jango together—might be the little team you've been looking for, please consider giving this deserving boy his furr-ever home. <br/>All medical work is completed prior to adoption including neuter shots worming flea treatment rabies shot kennel cough micro chip grooming Dental cleaning and vet examination. <br/>Adoption fee is $200 + tax with an approved application. <br/>Prairie Paws Rescue does not adopt on a first come basis but who will provide the best home suited to the pets needs <br/>The best thing in a rescued pet's life is a second chance!
