Chester's Story

Meet Chester your tall, gentle adventure buddy!
This handsome boy is Chester. With his long legs, shiny brown coat, and soulful eyes, he is truly a stunning dog.
Chester is estimated to be around 2 years old and has already shown us what a resilient and sweet soul he is. He was found wandering in the forest and had been spotted there for over a month during freezing winter weather. When he finally arrived into foster care with our rescue, he was very thin, with frozen paws and torn, bleeding paw pads on all four feet.
Despite everything he had been through, Chester remained gentle and trusting. His tall, lanky teenager body is now slowly filling out, and hes becoming healthier and stronger every day. He has beautiful shiny brown fur, great teeth, and the sweetest personality to match. We searched everywhere to find his family, but sadly no one came forward. Chester has since been fully vetted, vaccinated, microchipped, sterilized, and treated for fleas and ticks, so he is ready to start his brand-new life with a loving family.
His favourite snacks are apples and pumpkin!
Chester's personality:
Has enjoyed playing with other dogs in appropriate settings.
Never aggressive and very gentle.
Not a big barker.
Curious about cats, but respectful.
Calm and easygoing in the home.
Crate trained.
Affectionate and eager to bond with his people.
Important things to know:
Chester would do best in a home without young children.
He has recently developed leash reactivity towards other dogs and has become wary of strangers and children while out on walks.
Because of this, Chester should currently be walked on his own while these behaviours are being worked on through positive reinforcement and training.
He will need an adopter who is patient, understanding, and committed to continuing his training and helping him build confidence.
As with many rescue dogs, it may take time for his full personality to shine as he settles into a new home.
Chester is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Hes tall, graceful, affectionate, and ready to leave his past behind for a warm home, a soft bed, and people who will never abandon him again. If youre looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and long legs to match, Chester might just be your perfect match.
Chester is vaccinated, microchipped, has received flea, tick and heartworm prevention, is sterilized, and will come with his medical booklet.
Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up. You may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks, or even months. We don't know all that they've been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love, and it's worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is one of the most important things. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement, and love are the keys to helping them thrive.

Points importants a savoir :
