Cheryl's Story

At around 6 years old, Cheryl has officially entered her queen era. And now, she's ready to be adopted! Caitiesfosterfam.org/adopt

Her favorite place is perched on the patio chair, surveying her kingdom, followed closely by the couch, where she happily spends most of the day snoozing. Beauty sleep is serious business, and Cheryl takes it very seriously.
When she's awake, she has opinions. But only about the important things: meal times and bully sticks. In fact, those are the only times we've heard her use her voice.

Cheryl isn't looking for an adventure partner. Walks are an obligation, not a hobby. She's happiest lounging nearby, quietly keeping you company without demanding constant attention. She has all the charm, humor, and personality that make bulldogs so lovable, without the over-the-top stubborn streak. She has adored every person she's met, including a few brief visits with kids. Cheryl has shown some preferences with other dogs and animals, so we think she'd be happiest as your one and only, though she can co-exist with slow introductions and dogs who aren't in her face.

Cheryl came to rescue after what was clearly a difficult life. She arrived underweight, lactating after a recent litter, heartworm positive with damage to her heart and lungs, abnormal kidney and liver values, and a uterine infection that made her spay surgery especially risky. The good news? Cheryl has tackled every challenge like a champion. With great veterinary care, proper nutrition, and lots of rest, she's feeling better every week. She'll complete heartworm treatment and receive the dental care she needs before she's ready for adoption.

Cheryl's medical history doesn't define her. It is simply part of her story and the reason she deserves a life filled with comfort, love, and absolutely no more hard days. Cheryl has captured every heart in her foster home, and we can't wait to find the person who will give her the happy ending she so deserves.

If your idea of the perfect companion is a snoring couch buddy, a patio-chair queen, and a dog who believes bully sticks are a basic human right, Cheryl is waiting to meet you. Caitie's Foster Fam's Adoption Policy
• Potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved before they can physically meet a foster dog. All pets in the home must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered (medical exceptions must be communicated). We require an application, virtual home visit, personal/vet references, meet and greet, and $350 adoption fee. • Suitable applicants may be contacted for additional screening. • Once approved, meet and greets with the foster dog and foster parents will be scheduled with qualified applicants. • The adopter pays adoption fees and signs an adoption contract. Foster dogs cannot go to a potential adopter’s home until the fee and contract are received. Foster dog then goes to its new forever home.
