Chelsea's Story

Pretty, sweet Chelsea came to Dogwood as a pregnant stray. She had six tiny puppies in our care that have all gotten adopted into their individual forever homes. When Chelsea came to Dogwood, she was incredibly thin as a result of giving her all to the growth of her puppies. That wasn't the only reason for her extremely bony frame. Chelsea had been observed having some digestion problems after she had eaten. Her foster mom had seen this before and implemented a very easy routine of feeding her with a raised dish, in a vertical position, and then snuggling her and hugging her and having sweet upright time together for 10 minutes after eating so that gravity could assist Chelsea's digestion. Chelsea has what is called Mega Esophagus. Chelsea's foster mom describes her routine as very simple to do, and that it is especially nice to spend time with her after meals.

Now it's time for Chelsea to find her own loving forever home. She is a a Dachshund/Pomeranian mix girl, approximately 3-4 years old and 10 pounds. Chelsea has been bathed and is ready for her spay and dental appointment that is coming up. Dogwood dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption which is covered by the adoption fee. If you would like to give Chelsea her happily ever after, you may apply now.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
