Meet Chato, a resilient 7-year-old pup whose life has been a rollercoaster of challenges and triumphs. When he first crossed paths with us four years ago, he tipped the scales at 67 pounds, but this year he was a mere 43 pounds, battling chronic emaciation. Despite his hardships, Chato’s spirit shines through as he rebounds back to his friendly, playful self, relishing toys and treats like they’re his greatest treasures. He is a social butterfly, happily mingling with other dogs and older children who understand his need for toys and treat boundaries. His journey hasn’t been easy; he has heartworms, so if you want to take him home, you would foster him through treatment and have the opportunity to adopt him afterward. This resilient boy has so much love and joy to offer, and we can’t wait for him to find a loving family that will cherish him.
