Chase(Chester)'s Story

Meet Chase, a resilient young Doberman with a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to quit.
At just under a year old, Chase found himself back in a shelter after his previous owners said they could no longer keep him. The shelter environment was incredibly overwhelming for him, and he was understandably frightened and unsure of the world around him. But even through his fear, Chase showed everyone that underneath it all was a sweet, sensitive boy who desperately wanted comfort, safety, and love.
Since coming into foster care with Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA, Chase has made wonderful progress. Once he feels safe, he is affectionate, goofy, playful, and incredibly loyal to his people. He loves toys, enjoys playing ball and tug, and absolutely thrives on companionship and cuddles. He bonds deeply with his humans and wants nothing more than to be close to them.
Shortly after arriving in foster care, it became clear something was wrong physically. Chase was struggling with weakness and instability in his back end, sometimes stumbling or falling. After extensive veterinary evaluations and an MRI, Chase was diagnosed with Wobbler Syndrome, a neurological condition that affects the spinal cord and mobility.
Because of his diagnosis, Chase is looking for a very specific forever home committed to helping him live safely and comfortably.
Chase’s ideal home will:
• Be a single story home or have very minimal stairs
• Have secure footing and easy access to outside
• Be calm and low chaos
• Either have no other dogs or a very calm, respectful dog companion
• Avoid rough play and high impact activity
• Have adopters willing to continue managing his medical needs and monitoring his mobility
• Provide patience, understanding, and lots of love
Despite his diagnosis, Chase is still a happy young dog who enjoys life, affection, toys, and being part of a family. He deserves a home that sees beyond his medical condition and recognizes the incredible dog underneath.
Chase has already been through a lot in his young life. What he needs now is stability, compassion, and someone willing to love him exactly as he is.
If you think you may be the right fit for Chase, please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog
Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA, Inc.
Kennel License #14649
