She gets around just fine and approaches each day with confidence and happiness. She is currently under the care of an eye specialist as we work to learn more about her vision. At this time, one eye has no sight, and she may only be able to see shadows with the other. She is on medicated eye drops through September 1, when she will have a recheck to determine the next steps in her care.<br/><br/>Charlotte will need lifelong eye medication, which costs approximately $100 per month and must be administered three times a day. Her future family will need to be committed to keeping up with this routine so she can remain as comfortable as possible.<br/><br/>If there's one thing Charlotte loves more than anything, it's people. While she does just fine with the other dogs, humans are absolutely her favorite. The moment she knows you're nearby, she's standing on her hind legs, dancing for attention and soaking up every bit of love you're willing to give. She has the sweetest, happiest personality and wins over everyone she meets. Charlotte is truly personality plus!<br/><br/>Despite her vision impairment, Charlotte doesn't let anything slow her down. Dogs like Charlotte adapt incredibly well by relying on their hearing, smell, and memory. With a consistent home and a family who understands her needs, she'll continue to flourish.<br/><br/>Charlotte has spent her life giving to others. Now it's her turn to be someone's cherished companion. I can't wait to see this amazing little girl living her very best life—she has earned it.
