Meet Charlie in MA - Cuddly Couch Potato!

If you’re ready for a whole lot of handsome, then let us introduce you to Charlie! Charlie is great on leash (doesn't pull at all) and loves going for walks. He also loves car rides and an occasional run and play in the yard. Being a lower energy 'couch potato' his favorite things are quiet time with his favorite people, cuddling in front of the fireplace, sleeping at your feet, and snuggling. His absolute favorite treat is melted cheese - YUM! Charlie was rescued from an awful situation early in his life so has some lingering anxiety which causes him to be a little reserved warming up to strangers, but once he gets to know you, be prepared for a total sweetheart (he's very gentle with children he's met, and does great at the groomer). Charlie does not like to be crated, and doesn't need to be. Even if you’ve only been gone for 15 minutes, Charlie will act like you’ve been gone for years and will be completely overjoyed to see you! This sweet boy would do best as an only dog, in a quiet home with a patient, Pyr-experienced owner who can provide him with predictability and lots of squeaky toys, cheese, and cuddles!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
