Fearing he would fall into the wrong hands, this good looking little fellow was originally saved by a kind lady who saw him being given away for free on a website. Sadly, notice was given by the apartment complex that he had to go so he was surrendered to ATDR.
Charlie is now enjoying life in a comfortable foster home where it's reported that he is sweet, good natured and playful. He follows people around closely and wants to be a part of the action. He's a busy, busy, very curious active boy always sniffing and, like many youngsters, has been caught getting into things! Charlie has been accustomed to apartment living. He is potty-pad trained and his foster mom is working on house training him. He's currently wearing a belly band inside the house. Charlie was crated occasionally with his previous owner and he is sleeping in a crate at night in his foster home.
Charlie is good with older kids. He was living with an 11-year-old boy in his prior home. However, he would not be a good fit for a home with smaller children because he does like to jump and he puppy bites when he plays. His foster mom says that when she runs around in the yard with Charlie he nips at her heels. He needs to be taught some manners. With that said, Charlie is very smart and highly trainable. He already knows commands like 'sit' and 'bed' (to go into his crate). Charlie is an active mix and would definitey benefit from training, exercise and play for this smart boy. He would be a natural at agility!
Charlie is a precious boy anxious to find a forever home with someone who can keep up with him and work with him! He will require an active home with human(s) and/or playful dog(s) who can help him burn off energy.
