Charlie's Story
Meet Charlie, a 10 month old Border Collie/Kelpie mix!
Charlie came to us as a stray and went unclaimed by his former family. Unfortunately, it looks like he wasn't treated great in his past home. He came to us severely underweight, and spooked of fast movements. He is already doing so much better, but he will need a patient owner who can help show him what true love really means!
Named after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for his gorgeous chocolate coloring, this boy lives up to his name every bit with his fantastic attitude! Despite whatever hardships he may have faced, Charlie has surprised us all with his playful and loving spirit. He might act shy when he first meets you, but within mere moments he will soon be climbing all over you for affection. Once he's comfortable he is your typical pup, always ready for the next adventure.
Since Charlie was a stray we can't be sure of his history. A few days after arriving at the shelter he started to show severe reactivity to the other dogs. Even when taken out in the yard to make sure he's not reacting due to the gate, he still is not a fan of the other canines. Due to this we are requiring he be the only dog in the home. With his timid nature and the reactivity he's been showing, we will also not be adopting him out to any families with kids. Charlie has a lot of love to give, but he will need a family that can understand his fears and help him work around them in a healthy way!
As a young pup, Charlie is going to need an active owner that can keep up with him. He also doesn't appear to have had much training, so some time will need to be spent on getting him on his best behavior! Charlie is a mix of working breeds, so he is not the type of dog that will be content sitting at home bored. Giving him plenty of physical and mental stimulation will be key to giving him the best life possible!
This handsome fella has had his first round of vaccinations and is now officially up for adoption and ready to get the heck outta here! Charlie's enthusiastic nature and a playful spirit are sure to bring a smile to your face. If you're looking for a furry friend to join you on all your expeditions (though be careful he's not indulging of any chocolate when at the factory!!), he's your guy! Come in to met Charlie today and take your next step in a wonderful adventure!
