Charley's Story

Hi there! I’m Charley, a 2-year-old, 63-pound German Shepherd/Kelpie mix with a heart of gold and a personality that’s pretty hard to resist! Now, I don’t want to brag, but I happen to be Angie’s favorite dog at the rescue right now! With all the wonderful dogs she meets, I think that says a little something about how special I am. I’m a sweet, lovable boy with a happy spirit and so much love to give. I have a way of making people smile and I’m hoping there’s a family out there who will see in me what Angie already does!

If there’s one thing that makes me happier than anything, it’s other dogs! My whole face lights up when I see a potential playmate and I absolutely love having canine friends around. I’d really prefer a home with another dog or two because having a furry buddy to share my days with would make my heart so happy. I have a nice medium energy level, so I enjoy playing and having fun without needing to be on the go every minute of the day. I could use a little more practice with my leash manners, but I’m ready to learn with someone who has a little patience and love to spare. More than anything, I just want to be part of a family where I can play, feel loved and finally belong.

I’m incredibly dog friendly, people friendly and can be cat tested upon request! I’ll come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. My adoption also includes one month of FREE pet insurance plus a Fi Nano Mini GPS tracker with six months of tracking service ($20 activation fee)! Angie might call me her favorite, but my biggest dream is to become someone’s favorite dog for the rest of my life. Could that someone be you?

If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Petfinder. Fill out the application at the link below.

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/63adcb00cb896f59b74103d2/6adfa5ce6f6cd6ef1d024021

Angie's Dog House's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process Our goal is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible while making sure each animal is matched with the right home 1. Submit an Application Complete our adoption application using the link at the bottom of each animal’s bio. Our team will review your application and if approved, someone from the rescue will reach out. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN INQUIRY ON PETFINDER 2. Home Video Once approved, we will ask you to submit a video walkthrough of your home and yard in lieu of an in-person home visit 3. Animals Already in Foster If the animal is currently in a foster home, the foster parent will contact you to answer questions, tell you more about the animal and arrange a meet and greet. Please bring a leash to the meet and greet. If everything goes well and you feel it is the right match, you may complete the adoption and take your new family member home that day 4. Direct Adoptions From Transport Some of our animals travel to Michigan specifically for direct adoption rather than going into a foster home. Because these animals are coming on transport specifically to meet their approved adopter, a direct adoption must be a firm commitment. Please ask any questions and make sure you are comfortable moving forward before committing to a transport animal 5. Finalizing the Adoption To complete the adoption, you will sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once complete, your new family member is officially yours and can head home with you
