Chaparo's Story

Chaparo is a sweet, playful boy with short little legs that you will fall in love with! His exact breed mix is anyone's guess. We think he may have some Lab, Beagle, Shepherd, and Corgi in his family tree.

Once a stray, Chaparo was rescued by a kind Samaritan and has been thriving ever since. He's housetrained, walks well on a leash, and rides nicely in the car. He's also perfectly content being left alone when needed. Chaparo loves playing fetch, soaking up attention, and getting plenty of pets. Be sure to watch his video to see his fun-loving personality in action!

He gets along well with other dogs and is especially wonderful with kids, making him a great family companion. He sometimes (not often) will bark at cats when startled by one, but he's more afraid of them than anything, lol. He has befriended one particular stray at his foster home.

Like many dogs with a rough start, Chaparo can be shy around new people (especially men) but with a little patience, he warms up quickly and becomes a loyal, affectionate friend. He isn't a fan of baths, either, but his loving personality more than makes up for it! Chaparo doesn't require a tall fence and is comfortable with a shorter fenced yard.

If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate, and playful best friend, Chaparo may be the perfect match. He's ready to leave his stray days behind and start his next adventure with a family to call his own. Let us know if you think that's you!

Increasingly, we are doing FOSTER TO ADOPT options!
Thats where you and puppers make sure youre a good fit for one another before signing on the dotted line..... its a win-win for everyone! Just ask your adoption counselor about how this works. If you are interested in adopting this or another POPP dog, please complete our short adoption questionnaire found at: https://www.popptricities.org/adopt/adoption-questionnaire-canine/

If you have any questions. please E-mail us at dogsadopt@popptricities.org.

Our puppy or dog adoption fee of $300 includes a lovable, non-judgmental canine companion who has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.
Your adoption fee helps support POPP and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.
