Chad's Story

Meet Chad, a charming 4-month-old Lab/Great Pyrenees mix with a heart full of love and a personality that will steal yours. Chad is a bundle of joy who is affectionate, curious, and incredibly gentle, making him the perfect cuddle buddy. His playful spirit and funny antics will bring endless laughter and warmth to your home. Chad is making excellent progress with his training, acing crate training, walking beautifully on a leash, and is well on his way to mastering the “sit” command. Like any young puppy, he is still exploring the world around him, but one thing he’s already nailed down is the art of snuggling—a skill he practices daily. Currently being fostered on a farm, Chad is receiving plenty of attention, structure, and socialization. He’s thriving in this nurturing environment and is eagerly awaiting his forever family. Chad’s Lab and Great Pyrenees heritage promises a smart, affectionate puppy who will grow into a substantial and loving adult dog. Pyrenees Rescue of Western NC's Adoption Policy
Why A Rescue? The very characteristics that make this wonderful breed so desirable to many, can make them vulnerable to neglect or eventual surrender in the homes of those who are unprepared for the responsibilities with raising a dog with specific needs to accommodate their size, need for space, secure boundaries, and maintenance of the beautiful heavy coat.  Sometimes, the family circumstances change, relocations happen, and a new home must be found.  Often, the story is more tragic.  Backyard breeders abound, and puppy mill rescues are brought here to find forever homes.  Because the ultimate goal is to find families for the rescues, they are handled, loved, and groomed daily, socialized with the rescue volunteers and each other, so that they will be well-tempered.  Occasionally, due to behavior problems related to previous abuse or fear, or advanced age or special health needs, a dog will be considered un-adoptable.  Those dogs are guaranteed a home here at the rescue. We are listed with Guidestar. https://www.guidestar.org/profile/47-4410637
