Cesar

This big, goofy boy’s story started with being abandoned and left to fend for himself as a stray but you’d never know it from the amount of joy packed into this oversized puppy.

He may be a Great Pyrenees mix, but his current career goals have absolutely nothing to do with guarding livestock. His résumé currently includes professional tug-of-war champion, full-time foster sibling wrestler, expert toy tester, and certified goofball.

He is still very much a big puppy, and his favorite thing in the world is to PLAY. He loves playing tug-of-war with his foster siblings and would love a family who appreciates his playful personality and continues giving him positive outlets for all that puppy energy.

He is currently fostered with other dogs and does well with his canine friends. Continued socialization will be extremely important as he grows and matures, particularly given his breed and age. We want his future family to continue exposing him to new dogs, people, environments, and experiences in a positive and structured way.

He is not currently fostered with cats, so we do not recommend a home with cats.

He has also shown that livestock are not his thing. Because of this, he should not be adopted for the purpose of being a livestock guardian dog. He is looking for a home where he gets to be a beloved family dog instead.

The good news? This big baby already has some great foundations. He is completely crate trained and walks great on a leash. Because he is still a puppy, he will thrive with a consistent routine, clear expectations, continued training, and a family willing to keep building on everything he is learning in foster care.

More than anything, this boy is just FUN.

He’s goofy. He’s playful. He loves his dog friends. He loves having something to do. And despite being abandoned once, he hasn’t let it take away his happy personality.

He doesn’t need a flock of sheep to protect. He needs a family to call his own.

Cesar is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but he is available for adoption throughout the country. His $600 adoption fee includes transport to her forever family.
If you think Cesar could be your next best friend and you’re ready to give this fluffy guy the very best life, apply today!

Adoption app:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog
