Cayenne's Story
Cayenne came to us from South Texas, and while we dont know everything shes been through, its clear that the world still feels like a pretty big place to her. She is incredibly shy and cautious with new people and unfamiliar situations, and shes looking for someone who understands that trust cant be rushed.

Right now, Cayenne prefers to observe the world from a safe distance. She isnt the kind of dog who will greet you at the door or hop into your lap after a few days. In fact, she may take weeks—or even months—to feel comfortable, and its important to know that she may never become an outgoing, social butterfly. Thats simply who she is, and she deserves to be loved for exactly that.

The good news? Cayenne already has some wonderful basics down. Shes potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and seems to enjoy quiet strolls where she can take in the world at her own pace. Those little moments are where her personality starts to shine.

One thing that does help Cayenne feel more secure is having another dog around. She would do best in a home with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help show her that the world isnt so scary. Having a buddy gives her comfort and confidence in ways people simply cant right away.

Cayennes ideal adopter is patient, experienced with fearful dogs, and willing to let her move at her own pace without expectations. Shell need a calm home, a predictable routine, and someone who celebrates the little milestones: taking a treat, choosing to stay nearby, or offering a tentative tail wag.

If youre hoping for an instant companion, Cayenne probably isnt the right match. But if you have the heart to give a shy dog the time, space, and unconditional acceptance she needs, youll be giving her something truly priceless—a safe place to simply be herself.

Some dogs ask for adventures. Cayenne is just asking for patience.

Apply to meet her: https://centraltexaslittledogrescue.org/
