Meet Caviar

A good, ol' hound dog CAVIAR NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Caviar Best Guess for Breed: Hound Mix

Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of 3/14 SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 30lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! Additionally, Caviar lives in a foster home with young kids and does well with them. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Caviar is a truly Lucky Dog! She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.

Caviar is Looking For: A comfy lap to snuggle on! Caviar is a mature young lady, so she no longer needs endless exercise, but she would love to be able to go on frequent walks where she can sniff around and check out the neighborhood. She's a hound, so she's quite good at lounging and would like to request plenty of comfy places to snooze on. Of course, she hopes snuggles with her human(s) are part of the package too. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for this old hound dog?
What My Foster Says About Me: Caviar is a very sweet and loving dog who does great with my kids and loves to snuggle. She's just lovely.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
